C-2010 LARGE EAGLE FAMILY NW ACRYLICS NW01 White OTHER SUPPLIES Various Brushes TONE-ETTES Base coat entire figurine (except hair and hat) with NW02 Antique White. If, at any time as you are painting, the Tone-Ette smears adjacent areas, the smear can be repainted with the NW02. Cover the rock and pueblo area with French Antique and wipe back with T-Shirt material. If necessary, you may use a little Antiquing Solvent on the material to remove more color. Apply Maple to the rocks at the base, remove with T-Shirt. Apply Rich Walnut over this and wipe again. Apply Black to the pueblos and to the steps and again wipe off. Brush a little Maple on the T-Shirt material and rub this over the pueblos in some areas. Use Olive on the material and rub this color to the area that looks like sagebrush at bottom left, and also smudge this color on each side of the pueblos. Apply a coat of Gray Storm to the wolf. Wipe down, then rub with Maple on highlights. Lightly load a stiff brush with Black and scrub in shadows to the low places. Eagle on both sides is antiqued with Rich Walnut. Tops of wings are rubbed with Maple on the T-Shirt material. The flight feathers are shaded with Black. The Black can be applied with an old square shader and a small amount of color to enable you to shade the grooves. Apply Turquoise to the woman's shawl, wipe back lightly. Shade edges with Williamsburg Blue. Drybrush eagle's head and neck feathers with NW01 White. Apply Gold to beak and wipe back lightly. The man's undergarment is Peach Dust, lightly wiped back. The robe is Maple, fading to nothing on the edge at the seam line. Stripes on undergarment, main detail on robe, and fringe at bottom are done with Blue Green. This color is brushed on and carefully wiped back. Hatband can be finished with either Maple or Blue-Green. Cover any smears on all skin detail with NW02. Antique the faces with Brown. Blush with Brick. Fill in the hat and all hair areas with NW28 Raven Black. Block in the eyeball with NW01 White. The irises on all eyes are filled in with NW18 Maple Tan and the pupil is filled in with NW28 Raven Black. Add a highlight with NW02 White.
C-2009 NAVAJO MOTHER & BABY OPAQUE ACRYLICS TONE-ETTES SUPPLIES Base coat dress with Plum. Drybrush with 2 coats Mauve, then highlight with Brite Pink. Base coat shawl with Hunter Green. Drybrush with Irish Green, then Pine Green and highlight with Turquoise. Base coat Baby's robe with Turquoise. Drybrush with Aqua. Highlight with White. Base coat skin areas with Fawn. Apply 1 coat OT24 Rich Walnut Tone-Ette and remove with T-Shirt material. Blush with OT16 Brick. Base coat jewelry and belt with Raven Black. Mix a small amount of the Silver Powder with Kleer Gloss Sealer. Apply this mixture to the jewelry and to the conchos on the belt. Dot on Red Orange and Turquoise to the stones on the necklace and to the conchos. With a #3 dry brush lightly loaded with OT3 Black Tone-Ette, darken all crevices on shawl, dress, and baby's blanket. Fill in eyes with White; iris is Maple Tan. Using the 10/0 liner and Black add pupils, eyelashes, brows and hair. Add a small dot to each eye for highlight. Brush on a coat of the Kleer Gloss Sealer to the eyes.
C-1199 HOPI MAIDEN NW01 White TONE-ETTES SUPPLIES Basecoat dress with Angel Blue. Antique with Williamsburg Blue Tone-Ette. Basecoat the base with Antique White. Antique with Shadow Tone-Ette. Basecoat flesh areas with Fawn and antique with Pecan Wood. Blush lips and cheeks with Brick Tone-ette. On palette, mix White acrylic with Texture Sand to give a good texture when painted on and apply this mixture to the shawl. The stripes are filled in with Orchid Hills, Chartreuse and Desert Peach. Fill in hair with Raven Black and drybrush lightly with Angel Blue. Pot is also covered with Raven Black (no drybrushing). Moccasins are base coated with Butterscotch, antiqued with Pecan Wood. Apply bead design on moccasin using brush handle to dot on colors desired. Features are painted using White on eye, Maple Tan on iris and Raven Black on brows, lashes and pupils. Highlight each eye with a dot of White. Add 1 coat of Kleer Matt over the eyes and paint a design over the Raven Black on the pot. This simulates the matt and gloss black found on some Indian pots.
C-2005 PAPAGO WOMAN NW01 White OTHER SUPPLIES Clean and bisque to cone 05-06. Base coat moccasin, dress and shawl with NW62. Drybrush dress with 2 coats NW34. Drybrush shadow areas with NW37. Then 1 coat NW35 overall with an extra coat on highlights. Base coat face with NW21. Drybrush with NW62, then NW18 and blush with NW19. You may wish to darken by lightly drybrushing with NW21 in all the crevices and under chin. Fill in hair with NW28 and drybrush lightly with NW37. Drybrush moccasin with NW04, highlight with NW01. Apply bead design using brush handle to dot on colors desired. Drybrush shawl with several coats of NW01. Use #2 round brush to add stripes of NW62, NW37, NW66, NW52 and NW22. With NW01, paint in the small dashes of White between each stripe. On a palette, mix a small amount of Kleer Matt Sealer with some Silver Powder and fill in the silver on the squash blossom necklace. Stones on this necklace are dotted on with the #2 round and NW34. Features are painted with NW01 on eyeball, NW18 on iris and NW28 on brows, lashes and pupils. Highlight each eye with a dot of NW01. Add 1 coat of Kleer Matt over the eyes and over the turquoise stones.
