HIGH FIRE SEPARATOR

Lids on boxes, canisters, tureens, act. must be fired in place to prevent warping when working in stoneware or porcelain clays. These areas might possibly stick to each other during firing. The use of Separator will prevent this.

Check all surfaces to be sure that there is no glaze on the rims. Apply one coat to each piece that is touching and then fire to the maturing cone of the clay.

High-Fire Separator is non-toxic brushable liquid that can be fired to cone 10. Packaged in 2 ounce jars with a retail price of 2.50.

SLIP THINNER

Slip Thinner is to be used after the slip is mixed and it is still too thick to pour properly. Use only 3 or 4 drops, stir and let sit a few minutes, then stir again. If too much is added, the slip, over time, will become very thin and hard to cast. Also, greenware will develop a scum that hinders cleaning. If this happens, fire greenware to cone 020, then clean as for soft bisque. This is the only thinner that is recommended for Regal Stoneware or Porcelain. It is non-toxic and packaged in 4 ounce dropper bottles with a retail price of 2.50.

SILICA FLOUR

Silica Powder is used to dust kiln shelves before firing porcelain or stoneware. It allows the ware to move on the shelf as shrinkage occurs, preventing "hang-ups" which can distort or even tear the bottoms of pieces. It can also be used to support pieces that will not fire upright, such as figurines with small legs, eggs and ect. The silica used in this manner is re-usable. Use caution in handling this material, do not make or breath dust.

It is packaged in 2 and 5 pound packages with a retail of 2.50 and 5.00 per package.

SILICA SAND

Silica sand is used to dust kiln shelves before firing porcelain or stoneware. It allows the ware to move on the shelf as shrinkage occurs, preventing "hang-ups" which can distort or even tear the bottoms of pieces. It can also be used as a bed to support pieces that will not fire upright, such as figurines with small legs, eggs and ect. The silica used in this manner is re-usable.
